Favorite Spring Nail Polishes 2013

Hey guys! :) Happy Easter Sunday!  The weekend flew by, as usual.  Today I'm going to be showing you my favorite Spring nail polishes this year. I love nail polish, especially for the Spring.  Tons of brands come out with new Spring collections and limited edition colors.  I usually don't buy many limited edition polishes though, because I can never really find them at stores around me.  (sadly)  Anyways, I am going to stop typing this intro and actually get into the real topic of this blog post.  Let's get started with my favorite Spring nail polishes of 2013.  (btw these aren't in any particular order)

The first nail polish I'm going to talk about is Essie- lilacism.  This nail polish is so pretty! :) I love wearing this during the Springtime, but I do wear it year round as well.  It's a light lilac pastel color with a cream finish.  The Essie website says , "elegant and enchanting, this satiny smooth lilac whispers springtime."  I think that that description fits this nail polish very well.  This color also looks great on many different skin tones.  You can find this nail polish at Target, www.essie.com, CVS, and wherever Essie products are sold. It is around $8.00 depending where you buy it.

The next nail polish is another one from Essie, called a crewed interest.  This nail polish is so pretty.  Btw, I am going to use the word pretty a lot in this blog post. lol  Anyways, a crewed interest is a beautiful peach color that's perfect for Spring. It has a cream finish, so no shimmer or glitter.  I love wearing this color on my nails! :) The Essie website describes this nail polish as "a luminous peach shade."  It is most definitely the right description.  You can buy this nail polish from www.essie.com, Target, CVS, and wherever Essie products are sold.

The third nail polish I'm going to rave about is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in mint sorbet.  I am a huge fan of this polish!  It's so pretty.  I love the color mint, and this nail polish is a great mint nail polish!  That's just what it is, a refreshing, light mint nail polish with a cream finish that screams Spring.  It reminds me of mint ice cream. :) It's very opaque in one coat, and not streaky or anything like that.  This nail polish is only around $3.00 from the drugstore.  I got mine from Target for a great price. Any of the nail polishes from this line are extremely budget friendly.  So, your nails can look chic and stylish for an inexpensive price.

The second to last nail polish I'm going to be talking about is L'oreal cream puffs.  I got this nail polish pretty recently and I love it so much. It's from the new Romance Versailles collection released for Spring. It's a buttery, pale yellow cream nail polish with a subtle pearl effect.  I just had to pick up this color when I saw a bunch of beauty gurus on YouTube post pictures of the collection on Instagram.  I also was kind of drawn in by the name. lol :) I love when nail polishes have super cute names.

Here is a picture I took that shows the soft pearl finish.  You can't really see it well, but it's much better than the first picture.  On the nails, this doesn't show up too well, but in the bottle it does.

The last nail polish is yet another Essie.  It's called shine of the times.  Sadly, I'm pretty sure it was discontinued, but you can find it on Ebay.  Here's a link for one on Ebay- http://www.ebay.com/itm/ESSIE-MULTI-DIMENSION-TOP-COAT-NAIL-POLISH-SHINE-OF-THE-TIMES-LUXEFFECTS-/290887637311?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43ba41193f  This nail polish is a multidimensional topcoat to put over another nail polish.  I absolutely love wearing this over many nail colors.  It is a super pretty flaky glitter topcoat.  It has iridescent flaky glitters in it and they are all different colors.  The only thing I would say about the formulation is that it's a little bit sticky.  It's not too bad though.  Once you apply it it works out just fine.

Here's a picture of the nail polish up close where you can see the color of it pretty well.  It looks pretty much the same in this picture as it does in real life.

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post. :) Maybe it inspired you to try out some new nail polishes.  If you do try any of these out, please let me know in a comment below.  Also, if you would like to see any of these nail polishes swatched on my nails, feel free to let me know in a comment below.

Update! :) Social media, Schedule, and Revamped Blog Design!

Hi guys! :) Today's blog post is going to be an update.  I thought that it would be a good idea to update you guys in a blog post.

The first thing I wanted to talk about was my new blogging schedule.  I have decided to make a schedule for blogging because I thought it would be easier for myself to make sure blog posts get up on time.  I am going to have a new blog post up every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday.  So, on these days a new blog post will be up! :)

The next thing that I wanted to talk about was my social media; Instagram and Twitter.  Follow me on Instagram for my life in photos!  My Instagram account is @lexip120.  I'm always on Instagram!  It is one of my favorite apps.  I love posting pictures and following other people.  I also have a Twitter account. It's @artsygirl120. Follow me on Twitter for updates!  I am on Twitter a lot!  I like to follow others as well as tweet about what I'm up to.

The last, but certainly not least, thing I wanted to talk about is my new blog design.  I have recently edited my blog design, and I love it so much more now! :) I changed the colors, font, and wallpaper.  I hope you like it as much as I do!  I worked hard on trying to make it as close to perfect as possible.

Okay, so that was my update.  It wasn't too exciting, but I hope you still enjoyed it.  I just really wanted to update you guys on what's been going on.  So, please be sure to stay tuned for more!  The next blog post will be up on Sunday.  As always, if you have any requests for blog posts, please let me know in a comment.

Fave movies

Hey guys! :) I'm actually at my sister's basketball game right now and I'm bored and have nothing to do, so I thought I should blog! :) This blog post is going to be my top 5 favorite movies of all time. I love watching movies! They can be so amazing... or so stupid. I prefer the amazing one's. I love comedies and dramas. I can totally sit down and watch a chick flick or a Disney movie. Either way, I'm happy. I'm not, however, into movies like "The Hangover" or "Grown-Up's". I feel like movies don't have to be super inappropriate to be funny. The only movies I like that are quite inappropriate are Mean Girls, Mean Girls 2, and Pitch Perfect.still like to watch Disney channel and Nickelodeon on tv!  Some of those shows are really funny! I'm still a kid, so that's a good thing. Anyways, I am going to actually get to the point of this blog post because I have been blogging a lot right now. So, without further a do my top 5 favorite movies! :)

1. Beastly

This is my favorite movie of all time! I absolutely love this movie. It's such an inspiring, amazing movie. It's a romantic fantasy drama. It's basically a modern take on Beauty and the Beast. I really recommend watching it whenever you can! :)

2. Legally Blonde
I love this movie! :) It's a romantic comedy about a sorority girl, Elle Woods, the main character, getting dumped by her boyfriend and following him to college. This movie is so funny! It's a great movie for any girl's out there!

3. The Karate Kid 5
I love "The Karate Kid" so much! It's an amazing movie! I've only seen the newest one, but I want to know if any of you have seen the others before and if so, let me know what you though!

4. The Hunger Games
I'm a pretty big fan of the hunger games, not as much as some people, but I still love the movie.  It's a great movie, and I would highly recommend watching it.  The story line is just so interesting and thrilling.

5. A Cinderella Story
I am a total fan of this amazing movie.  It's a great teen romantic comedy.  I have seen this movie a million times, but I still love it.

Okay, so those are my top 5 movies of all time.  I love these movies so much.  I know that I just told you about my 5th favorite movie, but I had to include two more.  I just couldn't not talk about them!

6. Enchanted
I love this movie! :) It's enchanting.  lol :) I think that it's a great family movie.  I love the music element in it.  This movie would be amazing as a musical.  I would totally want to see it! I also love the

7. Fun Size
I love Fun Size! :D It's very funny and perfect for teens.  It's one of the best Halloween movies I've seen before.

Those are my top 7 movies.  I just couldn't only do 5.  I mean, there are only so many great movies in the world, it's hard to narrow it down to 5.  Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this blog post, and please feel free to comment below your top 5 favorite movies! :) I would love to hear them.

Spring 2013 Fashion Trends

Hey Guys! :) Today's blog post is going to be all about Spring 2013 fashion trends. Since Spring is almost here, I thought it would be fun to blog about Spring fashion trends of 2013. The trends this year are really great! I absolutely love most of them. I am going to talk about a few of my absolute favorites. Let's get started!

The first fashion trend is stripes.  I personally love this trend for Spring. It's very easy to incorporate stripes into your outfits for Spring.  It can be very casual or dressy.  I found some stripes on the runway recently.

Dolce and Gabana (left), Christian Dior (middle), Paul and Joe (right).

I have also spotted stripes off the runway.  On YouTube, many beauty and fashion gurus have been rocking stripes for Spring.  These are just two girls who wore the trend, and looked super fashionable!

Evelina Barry (left) and Nikki Phillippi (right).

The next fashion trend is lace.   Lace is a great way to create a feminine look.  It all looks so pretty.    I have seen lace all over the runway lately.  These are some of my favorites.

Roberto Cavalli (left), Lela Rose  (middle), Balenciaga (right).

The next fashion trend is cutouts.  This trend is very stylish, and can be daring or subtle.  The runway has been full of fun cutouts.

Cushnie et Ochs (left), Charlotte Ronson (Middle), Badgley Mischka (right).

The last fashion trend is floral.  I love floral patterns so much.  Floral is just so girly and perfect for the Springtime.  I love floral everything; phone cases, skirts, dresses....
Floral is big on the runway this Spring.

Lela Rose (left), Preen (middle), Richard Chai Love (right).

Floral is huge on the runway, but many other people love to rock this trend as well.  Some of my favorite YouTube beauty and fashion gurus, Macbarbie07 and Thatsheart recently wore floral and looked super fashionable in the cute pattern.

That's it! :) I hope you enjoyed this blog post all about Spring 2013 fashion trends.  Please follow this blog, leave a comment, and stay tuned for more!  I am trying to blog more often.  If you have any requests for blog posts let me know in the comment section. Thanks for reading!

Where have I been?!

Hey Guys! So I know I  haven't posted anything since August 17th, so sorry for that. Today I'm going to be talking about why I have not been blogging for a while. I just started school in September, and I have been pretty busy since then. First of all, I had to adjust to seventh grade and get back in the school state of mind. I also have had a lot of homework lately, and it can be a lot to complete and take up my most of my night. I barely have enough spare time to complete a blog post everyday. This is a little bit of an understatement because I do have some time to work on blog posts, but I just haven't been feeling like blogging. I know that when I was starting this blog, I thought that I would really put hard work into every single post and try to keep blogging as much as possible, but that didn't quite turn out as expected. I mean, I obviously knew I wouldn't have as much time to blog once school started, but I still thought that maybe I could try anyways. I still want to put effort and time into this blog, even if I don't frequently post. I will however, try to blog as much as I can. I have decided to publish a blog post every Tuesday and Friday. I might also post on other random days if I have time, especially on the weekends. I hope you guys will still read my blog and leave comments! If you guys have any requests for blog posts leave them in a comment below.

Taylor Swift's Style

Hi hi hello! :D Today's blog post is going to be all about Taylor Swift's style. I absolutely love her style, and she is probably my style icon. She is definitely super fashionable and looks amazing all the time.  Her style is very vintage inspired as well as feminine and girly. She always look sophisticated and classy, with an interesting twist. I chose a few of my favorite outfits she's worn to share with you:

                                    Pretty in Pink

This is a more recent photo of Taylor at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards. She is wearing a beautiful light pink dress by Maria Lucia Hohan that is so gorgeous.  It features sheer draping, a sweetheart neckline with sheer straps, and a flowing skirt that landed just above Taylor's knees and looked beautiful.  It also has a twisted detail on the waist, to accentuate her tiny figure, plus an exposed back for a more sexy feel. She paired it with some sequin peep toe heels, a gold bracelet, and a pair of straight up pastel pink stone earrings with a hint of golden sparkle that Taylor loves. Her makeup was just her signature eye with winged eyeliner and dramatic lashes paired with a light pink lip gloss. Her hair was pulled to the side in a low up-do that looked gorgeous.  Overall, she looked very feminine and girly and was probably best dressed at the Teen Choice Awards. :)

Modern Princess

Taylor looked stunning at the National Symphony Ball. She was wearing a pretty princess dress with beautiful detailing on the bodice as well as a feminine sweetheart neckline and a layered full skirt that definitely stood out and stole the show. The only accessories were simply a pair of earrings and a bracelet.  Her makeup was natural and glowing.  :D This look was completely perfect in every way. :)

NYC Sunshine

While walking around NYC, Taylor wore a cable knit sweater, a high fitted waist pleated skirt in a beautiful yellow color, and finished off the look with a bright blue shoulder bag and a pair of red heels. She also wore some pearl earrings that I love. Her makeup was stunning with a bold red lip that Taylor rocks a lot. Her hair was pulled back in a nice up-do and if you look really closely, you can see the number 13 written on her hand, which is her lucky number if you didn't already know.

Sophisti-chic

Taylor looked gorgeous at her in store appearance at Sephora in Glendale, California for the launch of her perfume, Wonderstruck, which btw I love so much. She was wearing a beautiful champagne colored dress with a bit of shimmer. It has a beautiful silhouette and landed mid-thigh. The bow detail on the waist, emphasizes Taylor's tiny waistline, as well as add a special touch.  She chose a pair of sparkly silver heels, a bracelet, and a pair of diamond earrings that paired perfectly with the dress, to accessorize. Her makeup was neutral with a pop of pink on her lips, and her curly hair was in a low up-do.  She just looked so feminine and chic, like she always does.

Stunning Sparkle

Taylor looked super stylish at the CMA Awards in 2009. Now, this was a while back, but she still looked great. She wore a dress with a form-fitting top and flowy skirt, the usual, but the bodice had glitter all over it. It went a little bit down the dress in spiky looking strips of sparkle. This made the dress more edgy and modern, in a way Taylor could totally rock. The colors in the dress were still neutral with a beautiful gold and light brownish nude. Accessory wise, she wore a simple bracelet and pair of earrings to finish off the look. We didn't see her shoes, but they were probably pretty cute. :) Her makeup was soft and her hair was pushed into an up-do. She looked amazing and glowed from head to toe.

So, those were just a few of my favorite Taylor Swift looks. I absolutely love her style, but I did manage to narrow it down to my top 5, as you saw above.  I had fun writing this and I hope you love it as much as I do. Be sure to leave a comment of some of your favorite Taylor Swift looks.  I would love to see them. Thanks for reading! Bye!! :D

Interview with Macbarbie07!!

I recently talked to Bethany Mota aka Macbarbie07, on Kik. If you aren't familiar with her, she is a very well-known beauty guru on youtube. She is 16 years old. She makes videos to share her love of beauty and fashion with the world and inspire people. She is a Seventeen magazine beauty smartie as well as a Myglam stylist. She is also currently starring on Awesomeness TV (youtube) on the shows IMO and Make Me Over. She is also part of the fawn- For All Women Network- team on youtube. She's worked with people such as Michelle Phan, Daniella Monet, and Rebecca Robeson of Robeson Design Studios.  Overall, Bethany is such a great girl with a passion for all things beauty and fashion. I absolutely love watching her videos and following all her social networks.  So, I asked her a few questions that I thought would be interesting:

Glittery Gemini: What is your favorite beauty product that you can't live without?

G
G: What are your favorite stores to shop at?

First Blog Post

Hey guys! It's Lexi and welcome to my new blog, called Glittery Gemini!! I am so happy to finally make a beauty/fashion blog. I actually had 2 other blogs on tumblr before I made this one. Those weren't really focused on anything  beauty or fashion related, but I ended up writing a few blog posts all about certain makeup that I was loving at the time. I never really kept writing new blog posts after those, which I wasn't working on for too long. I just wasn't too happy with them and didn't have a passion for blogging anymore. So, I took a long break from blogging. Now, I am ready to start blogging again. I will blog about anything I feel like, whether it's about a new beauty product I'm trying, or a fashion trend that's currently popular.  I will try my best to blog regularly and I will put very much effort in every blog post I write. I hope you enjoy reading my blog, and have a great time! :D
